Data Recovery:

Data Recovery actually means different things to different people. The good news is that San Diego Data does them both!

FIRST: Data Recovery from a dead drive:

Many times, a computer 'crashes' and we just buy another. Very often it is a good choice especially since replacement computers these days, cost less and do more than the ones that they replace. If the hard drive(s) in the old machine still spin and can be recognized by a computer, there is a very good chance that San Diego Data may be able to recover your old Data from the drive. The drive will be picked up from you, backed up, and returned to you the following business day along with the recovered Data.

We find that in 85% of the cases, a drive does indeed spin and Data is recoverable. If the cause of the crash was virus related, the virus will be removed before the data is backed up onto CD/DVD Rom media so that it's safe to use in your new computer. If the virus cannot be removed, you will be given the option to recover the Data anyway. That is obviously not our first choice but if you absolutely need or want the information I will get it for you any way possible.

SECOND: Reinstalling your Data after a crash:

If San Diego Data has performed a Backup for you at any time, you can feel safer in the event of a computer crash. You can use the CD/DVD Rom provided by us to replace the Precious Data that may have been lost in the crash. If you need us to provide it for you, then we'll reinstall your data for the cost of a simple service call.
